Report Usage
This report provides users with a list of issues in a structured hierarchy (For example: Epic → User Story → Sub-task). Its primary objective is to showcase issues in a rolled-up format, where child issues contribute to the totals of their parent issues.
Specific functionality:
At the top of the report card is a date bar swap for quickly changing the time frame.
At the top left, the report shows the total number of issues for the selected configuration.
Clicking a column header sorts values (A–Z/Z–A or high–low).
At the top right, a search bar lets users filter issues by key or summary.
Clicking the arrow next to a parent issue reveals its child issues.
Parent issues can display a configurable progress bar.
Child issues include a clickable link to their parent in the summary.
Issues without parents appear in a separate dropdown.
An “Expand all rows” toggle reveals or collapses all hierarchy levels.
Setting up a report
The report has 4 tabs of configurations: Data source, Parameters, Display, Description.
Data source & Description
This report supports filtering issues by Basic Source, Saved Filter, or JQL query. For full guidance on how to configure your data source and , see the Data Source & Report Description
Specific Report Parameters
The Hierarchy field is required. It defines hierarchy levels for chosen issues.
Period lets user select the time unit to customize the displayed data.
The Date to report field is required. It lets the user select the date type of the issue to report. The default value for this field is Due date.
Display
Columns lets user manage the display of columns in the table of the report by adding, removing, or rearranging them.
Custom fields is a multi-select field. It allows users to add additional fields to sub-table columns.
Fields are classified as Rollable or Non-Rollable, affecting how values appear in the table.
Rollable Fields: Numeric fields like “Story Points” and “Original Estimate.” These show as separate columns. If values are summed from child issues, a sigma (Σ) icon appears; otherwise, values show without it.
Non-Rollable Fields: Non-numeric fields like “Assignee” and “Labels.” These provide context but aren’t included in rollup calculations.
